Marc Guehi Manchester City

There have already been some high profile transfers in the winter window, and here we take a look at the signings that each Premier League club has made so far.

Premier League clubs up and down the country are currently looking to improve their respective squads during the current 2026 January Transfer Window ahead of the final few months of the 2025/26 season. A player signed in this window could be the signing that sees a club realise their ambitions for the current campaign.

Transfer windows are also an opportunity to refresh the squad, and the winter window is no different. Getting the right player(s) in during this period is very important for every club, but especially if you are fighting for the title, battling for European Football, or to avoid relegation to the second tier of English football this term.

Historically, some of the best January signings of the Premier League era includes the likes of Bruno Fernandes (2020, Sporting CP to Manchester United), Gary Cahill (Bolton to Chelsea, 2012), Luis Suarez (Ajax to Liverpool, 2011), Jermain Defoe (West Ham to Spurs, 2004), Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg to Manchester City, 2011), Patrice Evra (AS Monaco to Manchester United, 2006), Virgil Van Dijk (Southampton to Liverpool, 2018), and Seamus Coleman (Sligo Rovers to Everton, 2009).

Here, we are going to look at the transfers that each Premier League club has made so far in the 2025 January Transfer Window, as of the time of writing. We will start with title-chasing Arsenal.

Arsenal

So far, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are yet to make a signing in the 2026 January Transfer Window, though all eyes will be on the Gunners as they may look to further strengthen their squad as they look to seal the title this term.

They have, though, been rumoured to be looking at Real Madrid’s 19-year-old defender Victor Valdepenas, as well as Inter Milan left back Federico Dimarco.

Aston Villa

Moving on to Aston Villa, they are shock title contenders and look to have a great chance of securing UEFA Champions League football for the second time in three seasons. They have so far made two confirmed signings in the 2026 January window.

They first signed 19-year-old Brazilian winger Alysson from Gremio for a rumoured transfer fee of £10.5 million. He experienced his first full season in senior football last term in Brazil’s top flight, scoring 1 goal and getting 2 assists in 31 Serie A appearances.

Then came the signing of 17-year-old striker Brian Madjo from French Ligue 1 club Metz for a rumoured £10 million. Madjo has already played for Luxembourg’s senior national team, and he has already played senior football, making 5 appearances in the French top flight this season before joining Unai Emery’s side.

They are heavily rumoured to be negotiating a deal to sign Tammy Abraham from Turkish club Besiktas this winter. Abraham was, of course, previously at Villa on loan in the EFL Championship during the 2018/19 season, scoring 26 goals and getting 3 assists to boot.

Bournemouth

As for Bournemouth, Andoni Iraola’s side have made two signings so far in January. They have signed Goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a free transfer as a free agent, and they have also completed the signing of Ferencvaros’ 20 year old Hungarian midfielder Alex Tóth for a transfer fee of £10.4 million, signing a four and a half year contract with the Cherries.

Manchester City have been particularly active in this window so far, having already completed two major signings this January.

Starting with Antoine Semenyo, the Ghanaian international forward has signed from fellow Premier League side Bournemouth, signing for Pep Guardiola’s side for what is a rumoured £64 million (according to Sky Sports), with him signing a five and a half year deal that will expire in 2031.

They have also completed a deal for England international central defender Marc Guehi for a rumoured fee of £20 million, according to Sky Sports. He has signed a five and a half year deal, just like Semenyo. Guehi, of course, joined from Crystal Palace.

They have also recalled defender Max Alleyne from his loan with Watford, and he has since been a regular in the Cityzens’ matchday squad.

Manchester United

Manchester United have yet to make a signing this winter, with the only incoming activity this January being Toby Collyer, Sonny Aljofree, and Ethan Wheatley being recalled from their loans at West Brom, Notts County, and Northampton Town, respectively.

United, now under the management of former player Michael Carrick, have previously been linked with a move for Sunderland’s 21-year-old central midfielder Noah Sidiki, who has impressed alongside the rest of the newly promoted Black Cats squad this term. If the deal went through, it would potentially see United’s Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte move in the other direction.

Newcastle are another club who are yet to complete a deal this winter for a signing, having only recalled midfielder Joe White from his loan at Leyton Orient, with him going back out on loan to fellow League One side Bradford City.
