Stu’s Lucky 15
Tuesday 10th March – Champion Day
3:20 –Â Quebecois – 14/1 – Each WayÂ
This horse was second at the Trials Day meeting and is owned by Max McNeil, who owns the sponsors and sits on the Racecourse board. To qualify for this race, you have to have run 4 times over fences and a nice prep at Newbury on Tuesday this week will have got this horse spot on for a good run.Â
Wednesday 11th March – Ladies Day
3:20 –Â Favori De Champdou – 4/1 WinÂ
The Cross Country chase has turned into a race that is now won by horses of real quality. I fancied this horse for the Alber Bartlett back in 2023, but he ran no race. Since then, he has turned into a nice horse, winning Grade 2 & Grade 3 races as well as placing in G1 company. He should be too classy for this field and has the luxury of a C&D win.Â
Thursday 12th March – St Patrick’s Day
3:20 – Honesty Policy – 4/1 Win
Honesty Policy ran a lovely race in the Long Walk at Ascot in December on his only run this year. He was a G1 winner at Aintree last season. The Stayers is a race for “older horses”, and I am siding with the young pretender to take the crown.Â
Friday 13th March – Gold Cup Day
4:00 – The Jukebox Man – 6/1 Win
The Gold Cup will finally return to England after a barren spell of being held in Ireland. The Jukebox Man is all class and won arguably the best King George I have seen in my lifetime at Christmas. Ben Pauling’s horses are in sensational form this season, and the horse benefits from his only course run being top quality in the Albert Bartlett in 2024 when he was beaten a head. I think he will love every yard of the stamina test the Gold Cup brings.Â
Bring on Cheltenham, it will be a great week and good luck!
