The dress code for hospitality facilities at Anfield Stadium is smart casual to ensure a formal atmosphere.

Hospitality guests are not permitted to wear ripped denim or tracksuits. Please be aware that if you are arriving at The Beautiful Game, there is a smart casual dress code, and trainers, football shirts, and tracksuits are not permitted.

Liverpool, led by Dutch Head Coach Arne Slot, will face Gurban Gurbanov’s Qarabag, the reigning Champions of Azerbaijan. This contest will be played at the iconic and historic Anfield, which is located at the heart of Merseyside.

It will come as no surprise that Liverpool are amongst the favourites to go on and lift the famous Champions League title this season, with them looking to progress all the way to that final in May 2026. Victory in this game would be crucial as they look to build further momentum, with them also aiming for a top-eight finish in the league phase to qualify for the knockout stages automatically.

A place in this season’s UEFA Champions League was secured automatically for Liverpool after they managed to secure the title in the Premier League last season, making them one of five English clubs to book a place in the 2025/26 edition of this prestigious European cup competition. In the league last term, the Merseyside club secured 84 points from 38 games, finishing 10 points above runners-up Arsenal on 74 points.

Only AC Milan and Real Madrid, with 7 and 15 titles each, have won this competition more times than Liverpool, who have so far won this trophy on as many as 6 occasions as of the time of writing. The Reds’ wins have taken place in 1977 (3 – 1 vs. Borussia Monchengladbach), 1978 (1 – 0 vs. Club Brugge), 1981 (1 – 0 vs. Real Madrid), 1984 (1 – 1, 4 – 2 on penalties vs. Roma), and 2005 (3 – 3, 3 – 2 on penalties vs. AC Milan), whilst the most recently Champions League Final victory was back in 2019, when they beat fellow English side Spurs 2 – 0 following the goals of Mohamed Salah (2’ – Penalty), and Divock Origi (87’).

Moving on to Qarabag, the Azerbaijani Champions are regulars in European Football, and they will be taking part in the Champions League for just the second time this season. In their most recent campaign in this competition back in 2017/18, they failed to get beyond the Group Stage.

This will be the first time that Liverpool and Qarabag have ever met in a European Competition, and so the Reds will be looking to get the better of their Azerbaijani counterparts at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League this season.
