This included the Eventmasters.co.uk Paradise Stakes (13:40), the Eventmasters Commonwealth Cup Trials Stakes (14:50), the Eventmasters.co.uk 40th Anniversary Handicap (15:23), and finally the Eventmasters.co.uk Manny Mercer Apprentice Handicap (16:30).
Other races included the Royal Ascot Two-Year-Old Trial EBF Conditions Stakes and the Longines Sagaro Stakes with a number of its winners having also won the Royal Ascot Gold Cup winners, with Colour Vision (2012), Estimate (2013) and Stradivarius (2018, 2019 & 2020) all having done so.
Here, we are going to be taking a look back at all of the seven races that took place across the day at the 2025 Royal Ascot Trials Day at the highly prestigious and historic Ascot Racecourse back on Wednesday 30th April.
Racing Highlights
Why not relive all of the enthralling action from this year’s fantastic Royal Ascot Trials Day, sponsored by Eventmasters, then watch the highlights of all the races from across the day below.
The Royal Ascot Two-Year-Old Trial EBF Conditions Stakes (13:10)
The first race to take place at the 2025 Royal Ascot Trials Day was the Royal Ascot Two-Year-Old Trial EBF Conditions Stakes, which began at 13:10 that afternoon.
Onto the race itself, an intense contest saw William Buick on board a Charlie Appleby trained Wise Approach come out on top ahead of the likes of Clifford Lee’s Super Soldier and Kieran Shoemark’s Siren Suit, who themselves had to settle for a second and third place finish respectively in the end to round off the top three in this race.
The favourite pre-race was Shane Gray’s Dickensian, who only finished down in 6th place in the end overall.
Eventmasters.co.uk Paradise Stakes (13:40)
We will now be moving on to what was the second race of the day, which was the 13:40 Eventmasters.co.uk Paradise Stakes.
After facing a late challenge for the lead in the final furlong of what was an enthralling race, Kieran Shoemark, on board Sardinian Warrior, was able to come out on top as the winner of this race after having successfully fought off the challenge from runner-up and pre-race favourite Docklands, who was ridden by Jockey Richard Kingscote. It was William Buick and Checkandchallenge who came down in third place after this race, rounding off the top three.
Longines Sagaro Stakes (14:15)
Next up are the Longines Sagaro Stakes, which took place at 14:15 on that afternoon at the iconic Racecourse at Ascot in what was the third race to take place on the 2025 Royal Ascot Trials Day.
The pre-race favourite was Coltrane, with the Andrew Balding trained horse being ridden by Jockey Oisin Murphy. In the end, Coltrane ended up finishing as the runner-up in the Sagaro Stakes, finishing just behind Callum Shepherd on board Yashin, a horse trained by Michael Bell. Divine Comedy finished in third place, whilst Feigning Madness finished in fourth place overall.
Eventmasters.co.uk Commonwealth Cup Trials Stakes (14:50)
Then came the fourth race of the day, which was the Eventmasters.co.uk Commonwealth Cup Trials Stakes which got underway at 14:50 on that afternoon in particular at Ascot Racecourse.
The pre-race favourite for this race was Rebel’s Gamble, who was ridden in this race by Clifford Lee. Unfortunately for Rebel’s Gamble, the performance did not match the pre-race billing with what was a ninth place finish in the end overall, finishing just ahead of Electrolyte in 10th place.
In the end, it was Big Mojo, ridden by Tom Marquand and trained by Michael Appleby who come out on top successfully ahead of the likes of David Egan’s Diablo Rojo who crossed the line as the runner-up in second place, whilst it was Ain’t Nobody who was able to finish in third place with Tom Eaves on board as Jockey.
Eventmasters.co.uk 40th Anniversary Handicap (15:23)
The third to last race paid tribute to Eventmasters, with it being our milestone 40th birthday this year. This race, which was the fifth to take place on the day, was officially called the Eventmasters.co.uk 40th Anniversary Handicap, which took place from 15:23 on the afternoon of Wednesday 30th April 2025.
Ridden by Callum Shepherd, it was the Harry Charlton trained Blue Day who was able to come away as the winner of this race ahead of the likes of Tom Marquand’s Duran in second place, whilst it was Hollie Doyle on board Zoulu Chief, trained by Heather Main, in third place in the end.
As for the pre-race favourite, Fletcher’s Flight, ridden by Billy Loughnane, had to settle for what was a 9th place finish in the end.
Darley British EBF Fillies’ Novices’ Stakes (15:55)
Then came the sixth and penultimate race of the day, which was the 2025 version of the Darley British EBF Fillies’ Novices’ Stakes which took place at 15:55pm on the afternoon of Wednesday 30th April.
In this particular race, the pre-race favourite, Gulya, who was ridden by Jockey Silvestre De Sousa, did challenge well for the lead in the end but was unable to prevent William Buick and Victory Queen, trained by Charlie Appleby, from coming out on top as the winner. Hector Crouch’s Breckenbrough came in third place to round off the top three in this race.
Eventmasters.co.uk Manny Mercer Apprentice Handicap (16:30)
The seventh and final race to have taken place on the 2025 Royal Ascot Trials Day was the Eventmasters.co.uk Manny Mercer Apprentice Handicap, which took place at 16:30pm in the afternoon on Wednesday 30th April 2025.
In this race in particular, the pre-race favourite was finally able to live up to the billing ahead of the action, with My Cloud, ridden by Jockey Kaiya Fraser and trained by Roger Varian, being declared as the winner of the final race of Trials Day at Ascot Racecourse.
My Cloud finished just ahead of the likes of Harry Burns’ Mythical Guest and Tyrese Cameron’s Talis Evolvere who came down in 3rd place overall.
