Cheltenham Festival Trials Day – Saturday 30th January 2021
Towards the end of January, the buzz around Cheltenham Festival is well underway and the Festival Trials Day fixture is certain to get everyone in the mood for racing. You can expect to see some of the best horses, jockeys and trainers all in attendance hoping to grab the winning title. The high-class racing action gives you one last opportunity to see who your front runner will be for the main event in March. Bets most definitely are on.
Renowned races from Festival Trials Day include The Cleeve Hurdle, Cotswolds Chase, and Classic Novices Hurdle. The feature of the day is undoubtedly the Champion Hurdle. In 2019, we saw Espoir d’Allen win the Champion Hurdle ridden by jockey Mark Walsh. The glory was taken from reigning champion, Buveur D’Air, who suffered a fall. Many consider this to be one of the most shocking moment within recent Cheltenham Festival history!
