Sabrina Carpenter is amongst the most popular solo artists in the world, with the pop star having a plethora of hit singles such as ‘Espresso’, ‘Please Please Please, and ‘Nonsense’. Carpenter will be performing at the famous and historic Hyde Park on Saturday 5th July 2025. She will be supported by Clairo and beabadoobee.
Carpenter started to come to prominence with her role in Disney’s Girl Meets World from 2014 to 2017, having already signed for Hollywood Records which are owned by the American company prior to 2014. Her debut single, ‘Can’t Blame a Girl For Trying’ was co-written by Meghan Trainor and was released in March 2014, which was also the name of her debut EP that came out a month later in April of that year.
She provided lead vocals in several songs for Disney, including a cover of ‘Do You Want To Build a Snowman’ for the Disney Channel Circle of Stars, as well as recording the song ‘Stand Out’ for ‘How to Build a Better Boy’, a film by Disney.
January 2015 saw Sabrina Carpenter release her single ‘We’ll Be The Stars’, which became the lead song on her debut studio album ‘Eyes Wide Open’, which was released to the world a few months later on 14th April 2015. It peaked at number 43 in the Billboard 200, and it sold 12,000 copies in its first week of release according to Billboard.
Fast forward to October 2016, it saw the release of the American artist’s second studio album which is called ‘Evolution’. It debuted at number 28 on the Billboard 200 Chart and it went on to sell 13,000 copies over its first week following its release. Two of the leading singles on the album were ‘On Purpose’ and ‘Thumbs, both had vast acclaim with the former being nominated for a Radio Disney Music Award, whilst the latter peaked at number 1 in the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Chart before going on to be certified as Platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
In July 2017, her single ‘Why’ peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Chart, and it was another song that was nominated for a Radio Disney Music Award. Then came her Headline Tour – the De-Tour, which lasted from 6th July 2017 to 27th August 2017, with a total of 35 shows taking place across the continent of North America.
March 2018 saw the release of the song ‘Alien’ that featured DJ Jonas Blue, with it reaching the number one spot on the US Dance Club Songs chart, as well as high as number 12 in the US Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
Sabrina Carpenter released the third studio album of her career, ‘Singular: Act I’ back on 9th November 2018. Two of the songs on the album, ‘Almost Love’ and ‘Sue Me’ both reached the number one spot in the US Dance Club Songs Chart.
Then in March 2019, she went on her next headline tour, which was the ‘Singular Tour’. ‘Singular: Act II’ was her fourth album that acted as a sequel to the album released a year earlier.
By January 2021, she had signed with Island Records, going on to release the single ‘Skin’ on 22nd January 2021, with it debuting at number 48 in the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 Chart, reaching the top 40 in the Billboard Global 200 chart as well.
‘Emails I Can’t Send’, Carpenter’s fifth studio album was released back on 15th July 2022, with it going on to debut and also peak at number 23 in the Billboard 200 chart, whilst also selling 18,000 copies initially. One of the album’s singles, ‘Nonsense’ went viral on Tiktok, with it peaking at Number 56 in Billboard’s Top 100 whilst also being certified Platinum. It did reach the top ten of the US Pop Airplay Chart.
Following the release of the deluxe edition of ‘Emails I Can’t Send’ in March 2023, there were bonus tracks which included ‘Feather’, which went on to peak at number one in the US Pop Songs Chart and at number 21 on the Hot 100 Chart as a single song.
March 2024 saw the release of her hit single ‘Espresso’, which peaked at the summit of the Billboard Global 200 Chart, as well as at number three in the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It was also a single that went on to win the MTV Video Music Award for Song of the Year. With 1.6 billion streams in 2024, it was the most streamed song on Spotify of the whole of the 2024 calendar year.
‘Short n’ Sweet’ is her sixth studio album, with its release coming on 23rd August 2024, going on to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 Chart with no less than 362,000 copies of it being sold over just the first week alone. All of the album’s songs featured above 50 on the Hot 100 Chart, whilst Sabrina Carpenter was also the subject of no less than six nominations at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
This included the awards for Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year. Her single ‘Taste’ then also came out at a similar time, debuting at number 2 on the Hot 100. In doing so, Carpenter became the first artist since The Beatles to chart their first three top five hits in the US during the same week. ‘Taste’ was the longest running UK number one of 2024, whilst also becoming the first artist for 71 years to spend no less than 20 weeks at the top of the UK singles chart in a calendar year.
On Spotify, Sabrina Carpenter currently enjoys more than 85.2 million streams per month collectively on all of her songs, with ‘Espresso’ having the most of any of her current singles at present with a total of more than 1.8 million per month. It is narrowly followed by ‘Please Please Please’ on more than 1.17 million, whilst ‘Nonsense’ is currently on more than 1.16 million.
