Since his appointment on 22nd December 2019, Arsenal has only gone from strength to strength. His first half-season lifted the club to a fifth-place finish, and now, the last two seasons have seen the Gunners become Manchester City’s closest rival for the title.

Arsenal finished second in both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, missing out by just 2 points last year. Mikel Arteta’s side will be looking to end City’s dominance and win the title. In the 2024/25 season, the Gunners finished in second place in the Premier League for the third season in succession, and they will be looking to go one better in 2025/26.

In the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League, Arsenal reached the Semi Finals. The highlight of last season’s competition for Arsenal was the Quarter Finals, where they were able to beat the 15 time European Champions Real Madrid 5 – 1 on aggregate after 3 – 0 and 2 – 1 wins in the first and second legs respectively. Arsenal History

Arsenal was originally a factory football team. Employees of the Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory decided to form a football team in 1886. As a reference to the sundial atop the entrance to the factory, they called themselves Dial Square. They manufactured guns and ammunition, which explains the cannon of the logo and the reason why the club is often referred to as “the Gunners”.
